Catherine Creek Townley Dobbin Fish Passage
- GRMW ID: 1827
- Fiscal Year: 2009
The project proposes to replace the channel-spanning Townley Dobbin diversion structure on Catherine Creek and install a bypass fishway. Catherine Creek is habitat for ESA listed Snake River summer steelhead, summer Chinook and bull trout as well as resident rainbow and other native fish. The existing water diversion structure is a channel-spanning, deteriorating concrete wall on which check boards are placed to divert irrigation water into the Townley Dobbin ditch on the north side of the channel. The structure is a complete barrier to juvenile salmonids and other resident fish after diversion boards are installed, usually sometime in July.
