Goebel Canyon Road

Project Summary

This project was located in Goebel Canyon, a tributary to Bear Creek, which is a salmon/bull trout biodiversity area in the Wallowa River Subbasin. Goebel Canyon road is a draw bottom road for much of its length. Prior to the project, spring run-off and summer rain caused water to run down the road, carrying sediment into the stream. The project installed cross-drain culverts and catch basins.

Project Actions

  • Install 37 wooden box culverts on 1.25 miles of draw bottom road.

Project Partners

  • Private Landowners
  • OWHP
  • Wallowa County SWCD*
  • GRMW
